To be admitted to the M.A. International Marketing & Sales at FH Münster, you need a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a closely related field with a minimum GPA of 2.3 (German scale) or ECTS Grade B. You also need to demonstrate English language proficiency at B2 level or above (accepted certificates include TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, or Cambridge English). Eligible applicants are then invited to complete an aptitude and selection procedure. There is no requirement to speak German before you begin – however, you are expected to reach a basic level of German by the end of your third semester.
There are two application windows per year. For the Winter Semester (starting in October), applications are open from 1 March to 30 April for the first phase, and from 1 May to 15 July for the second phase. For the Summer Semester (starting in April), the application window runs from October to November. We recommend applying as early as possible, as the program has restricted admission and places fill up quickly.
Yes – the M.A. International Marketing & Sales is primarily taught in English. This makes the program fully accessible to international students from non-German-speaking countries. Some supporting modules may have German-language components, and you are expected to develop basic German language skills by the end of your third semester. FH Münster provides language support through its dedicated language center to help you reach the required level.

Past IMS students have studied in countries including Spain, France, the United States, South Korea, Mexico, and Australia. You can also opt for a full-time international internship instead of a university exchange. Your individual preferences and academic goals can guide your choice of destination, and the International Office will advise you on which partner universities best align with your interests.
Münster is one of Germany's most student-friendly cities, home to over 60,000 students and consistently ranked among the country's most livable urban environments. The city is compact, safe, and very affordable compared to larger German cities. . A realistic monthly budget for a student includes: accommodation in a shared apartment or student residence (€350–550), groceries and meals (€200–300), and personal and leisure expenses (€150–250). Public transport within the region is covered by your semester ticket, included in the €372.01 semester fee. Overall, most students can live comfortably in Münster on a monthly budget of approximately €700–1,100. It is famous for its bike culture – there are more bicycles than people – its charming old town, and a lively cultural scene with museums, theatres, and international restaurants. For international students, Münster offers a welcoming community, a supportive international student network, and easy access to major European cities.
